The helpless creature was hungry and covered in oil, and Mr. de Souza took it and cared for it until it came back. He called his little friend Dindim. After the penguin has fully recovered, the fisherman freed him, without thinking that he could ever see him again. But he was left amazed when, a few months later, the penguin returned to the island. He recognized the man and went home to him, Daily Mail reports .
Now, Dindim spends eight months a year next to the dome of Souza, and the rest of the time on the coasts of Argentina and Chile. It is believed that the penguin would travel about 5,000 miles to return to Mr de Souza
"I love this penguin as if it were my baby and I think he also loves me," said de Souza. "No one can touch it, and those who try are biting. He is in my lap, letting him wash and nourish him, "he added.
